The Food Chain In One (run-on) Sentence:
Cameras are sent to foodies who shoot their own food shows (like baking cookies with the kids, visiting a farmer’s market, tasting a great glass of wine, learning how goat cheese is made), post them to their blogs (don’t worry if you don’t have a site, you can post them here), and then pass the camera to the next person in the Food Chain (I cover all the postage fees and send you the mailing label which you simply affix to the box and send it on its way).
Where Did This Idea Come From?
The Blake Makes Food Chain is a series (a chain) of food stories told on camera by every day people like you and me. It spun-off from BlakeMakes.com, a food blog in New Orleans. My name’s Blake, and I love food blogging. I also love reading food blogs, and meeting new food bloggers. Food blogging is the future of food, and I see the Food Chain as a way to bring all that food and all those people together.
My creative mind is always on, and is constantly scanning, categorizing and filing away interesting ideas. I started food blogging in 2007. At some point, I discovered flip cameras. Then, some time later, I created my SOOPZ network. That took off, and when it did, I fell in love with what I was doing. What I was doing was food blogging, yes, but I was also meeting amazing food bloggers. A community started to form.
That was in the Spring 2008. I put my mind to work for almost a year trying to think of a big idea. One day, all those idea strings intersected, and (TA-DAH!) the Blake Makes Food Chain was born. The idea actually came to me while I was running on the treadmill one night. I got so excited that I jumped off to write down the idea. I got back on and started running again.
